Nicola Carroll
director, Nominated Individual
Hello, I’m Nicola Carroll, owner and Director of Recruitment and Training at Meadows Homecare.
My journey in health and social care began 17 years ago when I worked for a local taxi firm and noticed how many people in our local community struggled with loneliness and social isolation. This inspired me to become a carer and over the years I have grown even more passionate about making an impact on people’s lives.
Through knowledge, education and experience I have progressed through various roles in the sector, beginning as a carer and advancing to Recruitment and Training Manager. In that role I focused on building a team of compassionate, skilled carers by implementing high recruitment standards and delivering comprehensive training on empathy, person centred care and best practice. This dedication to others paved the way for my promotion to Deputy Manager where I oversaw daily operations and staff development, ensuring our services met the highest standards. I was heavily involved in preparations for the Care Quality Commission Inspection and was integral to the team that achieved a CQC Outstanding Rating.
